The company prohibits the consumption, possession, use, distribution, sale, or
being under the influence of controlled substances on company property.
Violation of this policy will result in disciplinary action, up to and
including immediate discharge. Employees who are under the active treatment
of a health care provider who has prescribed a controlled substance to the
employee will not fall within the policy if they can promptly provide
written verification from the health care provider that they are using a
controlled substance at his or her direction.
For purposes of this policy, “controlled substances” are any substance defined
as a controlled substance under the federal Food and Drug Act, and also
includes, without limitation, PCP, LSD, marijuana, cocaine, heroin,
methamphetamine, and hallucinogens. “Company property” includes, without
limitation, the company’s physical premises, offices, and vehicles (either
owned, leased, or rented by the company).
